LTTE repulsed the Sri Lankan Army’s (SLA) latest military offensive from Paranthan and Killinochchi, killing 41 Solders and injuring further 102

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) says that they have repulsed the Sri Lankan Army’s (SLA) latest military offensive from Paranthan and Killinochchi, killing 41 Solders and injuring further 102. SLA launched the fresh offensive on Tuesday, January 6th at 4.30,  from three frond, according to Tamil Tiger officials.

One offensive launched from Paranthen to Murasumoodai and other from Paranthan to Pannkkandy. The third offensive launched from Kanakambikulam in Killinochchi to Iranaimadu.

The Tamil Tigers say that they have repulsed all the three offensives by 5 pm in the evening. They also claim to capture military hardware from the SLA and claiming many SLA bodies are scattered in the no man land.

This second fierce clash between the SLA and the Tamil Tigers since SLA occupy Paranthan on January 1st and Killinochchi on January 2nd.

Raging fighting in the Vanni area for last two years made 327,000 civilians internally displaced including 40,000 children according to the UN agency and these people are living under the trees, schools, churches and many other temporary shelters with limited or no access to food, medicines and basic essentials.
