There have been renewed warnings against all but essential travel to the island of Sri Lanka after the police there found several claymore mines in some of the most popular tourist hot-spots. Sri Lanka police reported finding of a 3Kg claymore mine in the Sinhala-Buddhist heartland and popular tourist resort city of Kandy.

Sri Lanka Police on Sunday morning recovered bodies of five males from a canal in Pinwatte area, Panadura, police said. Police officials said they recovered the bodies from the Golukotuwawatte canal, in Pinwatte area in Panadura this morning on receiving information from the public.
