Sri Lankan military said that it had 'arrested' a police officer who once served in the eastern town of Sampoor.

Informed sources said a resolution is currently under discussion within the EU and will be discussed among member nations before it is placed before the council. The EU presidency is currently held by Portugal.

Meanwhile Two youths from Madduvil, Thenmaradchchi have been missing since 20th of this month while they were going to Jaffna town. They have been identified as V.Satheeskumar age 29 and K.Pratheepan age 32. They have not yet returned their homes, relatives said.

Sri Lankan military has setup procedures in Jaffna for the movement of military convoys in which regal respect is being awarded to it at the expense of all other civilian activities. When a military convoy is en-route, not a single civilian is permitted to on the road.
