Baghdad - Violence in and around Baghdad killed nine Iraqis and wounded at least 16 others early Saturday, as meanwhile some Iraqi Muslims are still celebrating the Islamic breaking-of-fast feast.

The British newspaper, The Independent, reported on Saturday that during this summer's war in Lebanon, Israel used uranium-based munitions, including uranium-tipped bunker-buster bombs.

Six Iraqis including three women and two children were killed in a U.S. air strike in the city of Ramadi in Iraq's western Anbar province on Saturday, a doctor at Ramadi hospital said. A police brigadier said five civilians were killed in the attack. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military several hours after a request for information.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. owes workers in Pennsylvania $78.5 million for missed rest breaks and hours worked beyond regular shifts, a jury ruled, handing the world's largest retailer its second such trial loss in less than a year.
