In the name of more than 8 million Tamils scattered all over the world, but of once a beautiful Island called Serendib, Ceylon and nowadays Sri Lanka, I call you attention on the following news items and request humbly to help the Tamil People in any way you can.
JVP: President missed chance to pull out of CFA The JVP Saturday faulted the government for reiterating commitment to the Oslo-arranged Cease-Fire Agreement (CFA) saying President Mahinda Rajapakse passed a golden opportunity to quit the CFA over the assassination bid on his brother Gotabhaya, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence. Dismissing criticism of the disputed decision to resort to tough anti-terror laws in response to the latest attack, the JVP emphasised the need to defeat the LTTE militarily.
MEP rejects `majority report` The MEP has rejected the hotly disputed recommendations made by an 11-member expert panel to the All Party Representative Committee (APRC). The statement referred to as the `majority report` called for far reaching constitutional changes, recommending among other things a bicameral legislature and two vice presidents from among the minorities. Prof. Nalin de Silva, who represented the MEP in the 17-member expert panel told The Island that the majority was not acceptable to them. Referring to our lead story headlined `Sharp differences in Constitutional panel, APRC over peace plan` last Friday (December 8 issue) de Silva said that he was dismayed over the publication of certain points contained in the interim report submitted by the majority of the panel of experts. He said, `Together with this report another report by four members of the panel, and two other documents were submitted at a joint meeting of the panel and APRC held on Wednesday the 6th. It was agreed that all the documents would be treated with utmost confidentiality and that their contents would not be divulged to the press. I am not aware how the contents of the majority reached the press.`

Any one who expects anything other than status quo (Sinhala state) will we awakened from their slumber. Devolution of power to minorities; come on, who are you kidding. This APC will go the same way other APC's before it. LTTE has put this government on the spot. No Sinhala government can deliver devolution of power of any sort. This government knows that. That is why they are trying to "weaken the LTTE" so that the crumbs of devolution with the support of EPDP who got less than the "spoilt votes" in the last election and the Karuna group who have no votes in the last election will be force fed to the Tamils. Oh yes, with the blessing of US of course. |

Poor Vadivetkaran, You shoot in the foot. Now every boty in UN & other places knows, that even after LTTEs assination attempts on his own brother, His execellency President Rajapaksha , did not made knee jerk reaction & bend into JVP/JHU justified but foolish request to pull out of CFA. This enhanced the world international communities trust on him to protect all Sri Lankans. and also it reassured the real culprit is in wanni, sending suicide bombers to colombo.( violating CFA in all means ) Thi is similar to Anton Balasingham apolagising on killing Rajiv Ghandhi. If Praba knows where you live , you will be dead with in one week. |
| Only smart people know as to who try to kill rajapakses. As I mentioned before, there is a serios row between down-south and high-class sinhalese. Lots of colombo-based sinhala army officers still help the Tamil forces, because of one simple phenomenon, i.e., enemy to an enemy are friends. Do you know that rajapakse is not preferred by the high-class sinhalese ? Hence, there are more explosions to be heard in colombo!!!!!!!!!!. |

Hi all, I am Eashan, who respect HUMAN values and your views. I hate war as well, but please read the following. I am totally vegetarian, as I do not even want to kill animals just for my pleasure (i.e, eating). However, when an animal is trying to attack me, definitely I will protect myself; sometimes it may end up in the animal being killed. This is very much analogous to Ceylon problem. I personally lost my innocent uncle due to indiscriminate shellings by the occupational forces. This is the case for every Tamils of Tamil EELAM. We, Hindus and Christians, are not in favour of war, but in Ceylon, we Tamils are facing a cruel sinhala enemy. They organised lots of state-sponsored pogroms and have been successfully carrying out ETHNIC CLEANSING and commititing all sort of atrocities against the minorities. This is why LTTE was born in Ceylon. If there existed no Tamil force, Tamils would have been completely wiped out of Ceylon. Thanks to LTTE, it is because of them we are still alive. But everyday terror GoSL kills so many innocent civilians by aerial bobarments and indiscriminate shellings. Do you know that it is the Tamil Areas which were badly affected by TSUNAMI, but I am sure that you know how sinhala govt responded to this humanitarian issue. GoSL and its greedy people robbed the TSUNAMI funds & foreign aids and as a result still every poor Tamil civilians is leading a terrible life. This got exacerbated by long years of econmic embargo to Liberated Tamil Areas by the brutal GoSL. If a govt and its sinhala people don't have the mentality to help the victims of an humanitarian catastrophy, can you expect that they have any interest to solve the political problem. What I am tyring to say is that We, Tamils, have been forced to take weapons against the evil. Hence, so long as the sinhala occupational forces exist and commit atrocities in our TAMIL HOMELAND, we won't give rest to our weapons. But one thing !!!, Unlike sri lankan sinhala forces, Tamil Forces won't use food as the weapon against humanity and won't use weapons against any civilians/humanity;, which I am sure that you will agreed to. Hence, I have to support this fighting for our FREEDOM, and extend my HAND to the TAMIL FORCES. By fighting, we are not infringing the freedom enjoyed by the sinhalese; instead we fight for our FREEDOM. |

Now, the International community should have come to know that the Singhalese government is not going to give any devolution package for the Tamils to rule themselves. As they have branded LTTE as terrorists, Can the International community spell out the ways to obtain freedom for the Tamils to rule themselves and to release them from the genocide, discimination and other atrocities from the Singhalese animals? |
