The confrontation between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE has resulted in an atmosphere of a full scale war. 61 innocent children have died following an air strike by the Sri Lankan war planes on “Sencholai illam “, an orphanage run by the LTTE in Mullaitivu.

It is important to note that these orphan-children had already lost their parents in previous attacks by Sri Lankan security forces.

It is a grave offence and violation of the code of war to commit violence on children during a war. We like to point out there is no truth or basis for the Sri Lankan government to allege that it was an LTTE training camp that they bombed. In fact we point out that the UNICEF officials and the SLMM officials who visited the scene have confirmed that it was an orphanage that had been bombarded by the Sri Lankan government.

This merciless and cruel attack on children has shocked the people of Tamil Nadu. Dr.Karunanithy, Tamil Nadu chief minister has proclaimed in the Tamil Nadu state assembly that they must put an end to the violence committed by the Sri Lankan government.

Viduthalai Sruthaikal has demanded that the central government must take military action against the Sri Lankan government to ensure safety and the security of the Sri Lankan Tamils.

Pattaly Makal Katchie has demanded that the central government must exert pressure on the Sri Lankan government to stop its violence in the North-East. The Indian communist party has stated that both parties must honour the Ceasefire Agreement and that the Central Government should not let the Sri Lankan government and the Sri Lankan army to believe that India would extend its support to Sri Lanka.

People in the North –East are internally displaced because of the army violence in the North and east and are compelled into refugee camps out of necessity. Koffi Annan ,General secretary of the United Nations has appealed to both parties to stop the violence and return to negotiating table.

The Indian Central Government should not forget the fact that if there is a escalation of violence in the North-East due to the excesses of the security forces, there can be serious repercussions in Tamil Nadu . It is true that the Indian government cannot involve in the Sri Lankan problem directly as it had done in the past. But nevertheless it can no more be silent, as a passive observer.

We reiterate that there can be permanent peace only if steps are taken for Tamils to live with equal rights while recognizing sovereignty of Sri Lanka. Both the Sri Lankan government and LTTE must realize that there can be no success through retaliatory tactics and that it is the ordinary people who suffer because of violence.

Both parties must engage in cessation of hostilities and opt for talks with open mind.

I think Indians are confused...they are led by foreigners but cannot relate to their own kith and kin.

And we all know that Jawaharlal's only daughter was Indira Priyadarshini Nehru; Kamala Nehru was her mother, who died in Switzerland of tuberculosis. She was totally against Indira's proposed marriage with Feroze.

Now, who is this Feroze ? He was the son of the family grocer. The grocer supplied wines, etc. to Anand Bhavan, previously known as Ishrat Manzil, which once belonged to a Muslim lawyer named Mobarak Ali. Motilal Nehru was earlier an employee of Mobarak Ali.

Rajiv's father Feroze was Feroze Khan before he married Indira, against Kamala Nehru's wishes.

One frequently hears that Rajiv Gandhi's grandfather was Pandit Nehru. But then we all know that everyone has two grandfathers, the paternal and the maternal grandfathers. In fact, the paternal grandfather is deemed to be the more important grandfather in most societies. Why is it then no here we find Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather's name ?

It appears that the reason is simply this. Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather was a Muslim gentleman from the Junagadh area of Gujarat - Nawab Khan who had married a Parsi woman after converting her to Islam. This is the source where from the myth of Rajiv being a Parsi was derived.
///
Indira was Chased out of the Shantiniketan University by Gurudev Rabindranath himself for misdemeanour, the lonely girl was all by herself, while father Jawaharlal was busy with politics & women; while Kamla Nehru was in hospital. Feroze Khan, the grocer's son was then in England and he was quite sympathetic to Indira.
...
Indira changed her religion, became a Muslim woman and married Feroze Khan in a London mosque.

Nehru was not happy; Kamala was on deathbed. The news of this marriage eventually reached Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhi called Nehru and practically ordered him to ask the young-man to change his name from Khan to Gandhi. It had nothing to do with change of religion, from Islam to Hinduism for instance. It was just a case of a change of name by an affidavit.

And so Feroze Khan became Feroze Gandhi. The Father of nation didn't mention this game of his in the famous book, 'My Experiments with Truth'.

When Feroze and Indira returned to India, a mock 'Vedic marriage' was instituted for public consumption.
...
On this subject, writes M.O.Mathai (a long time Private Secretary of Nehru)in his renowned (but now suppressed by the GOI) Reminiscences of the Nehru Age on page 94, second paragraph: "For some inexplicable reason, Nehru allowed the marriage to be performed according to Vedic rites in 1942. An inter-religious and inter-caste marriage under Vedic rites at that time was not valid in law. To be legal, it had to be a civil marriage."
...Saying that an Italian should not lead India will amount to narrow mindedness, but if Sania Maino (Sonia) had served India like say Mother Teresa or Annie Besant, i.e. in anyway on her own rights, then all Indians should be proud of her just as how proud we are of Mother Teresa.
