It is shocking to hear that Hon. MP Nadarajah Raviraj was shot and killed in Colombo. Mr. Raviraj was a brave politician, and always raised his voice for Tamils. He voiced against the extra-judicial killings and forced disappearances by Sinhala military and government in Tamil Eelam and Colombo.

He took part in a demonstration Thursday against the Sri Lankan Army shelling in Vaharai where 47 Tamil civilians, Internally Displaced from Trincomalee, were killed.

Tamils know that this killing is certainly a work of the Sinhala state terrorists.

This type of “normalcy” will continue until another Tamil politician or a Tamil civilian massacre happen. Will Tamils want to allow this cycle to continue, and each of them waits until their time to come and get killed by the Sinhala state terror machine?

If someone carefully look at the pattern in the past, this is easily predictable.

How this Tamil genocide can be stopped? Tamils do not enough financial or military power to make any change on Sinhala nation or international community. However, Tamil have to make a decisive decision, and use its full force to achieve it. The decision was already made in 1977, and a clear mandate exists. In 1977, the Tamil leader Thanthai Selva said “only God can save the Tamils”.

Instead of asking for peace, federalism, food, or normalcy, Tamils must clearly put forward “Tamil Eelam” as a solution, and campaign only for that solution. Tamils must placed their demand very straight forward, expose the Sinhala state terrorism, and request the world to force Sri Lanka to withdraw the Sinhala deadly military from Tamil Eelam.

The world may refuse, but it doesn’t really going to change anything. In the past 5 years, Tamils asked for federalism and peace, what we get now is “banned”, “punished”, “killed”, “open prison” and “de-merged”. In this current situation, again,

It is time that the Tamils declare Unilateral Independance - U D I - as it is commonly called.

The international community insisting that the Tamils go for negotiations is a ploy to show the world that they are concerned. If they are concerned, should they not reprimand when Sri Lanka is abrograting very brazenly the Internationally brokered agreements reached during the last six meetings and the famous Oslo communeque.

Why is Sri Lanka permitted to get away with this without any condemnation? Is there a hidden message? The International Community has to recoganize that Sri Lanka has no intention or incentive to solve this problem. The Retired Generals of the Sri Lankan Army are the Arms Importers and why would they want the war to end? they make too much money as does the Ministers. How many children of the Ministers or the Army brass are in the army? The Sri Lankan news media should investigate and publicise it.

c) Is it not better for the spouces to part and try to live amicably. I say try, because the spouce has been Raped, Looted, House burnt, Vehicles burnt, Assaulted repeatedly, Starved when the spouce protested, lied to repeatedly and false information given to the neighbours.

d) Under such circumstances should the Spouce not take matters to hand and walk out? after all the neighbours are no help, they are not even condemning the beating, let alone come to her aid. In fact the neighbours are supplying the pole - guns, rockets and jets to terrorize the wife.

The wife has every right to say - no thankyou husband, I quit, do not come after me.

Let them decide their destiny. The proposal should cover all the aspirations of the Tamil population. Although no amount of money will be sufficient to compensate the loss of lives, the injuries caused, the sufferings of the people, the possessions taken away from them by the Srilankan Armed forces and the attrocities, still the government must come forward pay for these losses and to compensate for the crimes and damage they have committed on the North and East(just like the huge amount of money the Americans paid to the red Indians in the 17th century as a compromise to the sufferings they caused them).

And above all, the perpetrators must be brought to justice in that they must be tried by International courts or Institutions. Does Rajapakse has the courage to do the above. He will probably will be the first to stand on the dock.
