K.Viramani, Leader of Dravidian Kalagham has called for a ‘human chain’ protest all over Tamil Nadu as a gesture of protest against the genocide of Lankan Tamils by the Sri Lankan government and to express solidarity with their freedom struggle.

In Sri Lanka, the Tamils are being oppressed by the Sinhala racist government. State terrorism is unleashed on them mercilessly. The Lankan government’s main objective is to annihilate the Tamil people and to destroy their properties.

Despite a resolution by the Tamil Nadu Assembly and appeals by Indian Congress Leader Sonia Gandhi, the Sri Lankan government continues its acts of violence and oppressive measures with temerity.

Allen Rock, UN Special Envoy, at the end of his 10-day tour in the North-East revealed that child soldiers are recruited by a section of the Lankan security forces for the Karuna Paramilitary group to fight the LTTE. This impartial view cannot be dismissed lightly.

Is there no body to voice against the Lankan government’s atrocity of killing 3000 Tamils in the current period?

Are we not sensitive enough to vehemently protest against the audacity of the Lankan government to destroy the dwellings of 30,000 Tamils and making them refugees?

Therefore, let the people of Tamil Nadu rally together and launch a ‘human chain’ protest in every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu to protest these human rights violations against the Tamil brethren in Sri Lanka and to make the Lankan government and the central government realize the sentiments of Tamil Nadu people.

This is because, if you are unaware of the history, you will simply hurt thousands of hearts with your writings. Since every Tamil has undergone untold hardships in the hands of GoSl and its forces, they have a clear picture as to the history of Tamil Freedom Struggle in Ceylon. On the other hand, I can understand that most of my sinhala friends do not seem to have understood this cleary.

This is clearly evident from the way they write comments in these columns. Hence, it is better to learn the facts first and engage in discussion in this forum for the sake of our two communities. Unlike GoSL's Asia Tribune (AT), I understand that SiberNews does not make any attempt to prevent any person from exercising their freedom of speech (as I said before, AT only allows only a bunch of govt officials write and comment its articles which turn out to be untrue).

Given Tamils have been subject to untold hardships in the hands of sinhala nation for almost 50 years, I have argued that it is better for us to be seperated. This is the best solution I can think of. This is because that the problem has been dragged and draged on to a point where it is impossible for us to find long-lasting solution within the concept of "single-country". I am sure, you sinhala friends will agree to this, if you ask your conscience. Tamils are not greedy to ask for sinhala land, instead, they want to rule themselves in their own Tamil Homeland. More over, My sinhala friends, please think !!!. We humans only have very short period of life-time in this world. If you sinahalese understand this, why don't you allow your brethren to lead beautiful lives without any misery. Why do you hinder this ??? I don't understand as to why sinhalese are greedy of other peoples' property ??? Why don't you get yourselves satisified with what you've got. Hence, I make a humble request you to urge your GoSL to take the occupational forces back and give Tamils their preferred HomeLand. Once this is achieved, there will be no war and hence, we can develop our Countries.
