There was a debate on Sri Lanka in the British House of Commons. Kim Howells, the British Foreign minister, has stated that Britain is prepared to take initiatives for Lankan peace summit in London between the Sri Lankan government, The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam(LTTE) and the Norwegian government. He further states that there is no military solution to the Sri Lankan national problem. He stresses that human rights must be respected in Sri Lanka. Geoffr Glifton Brown, of the Conservative party, has stated that the closure of the A9 highway has not helped to improve the situation and that the government did not permit the international non- governmental organization to go there and do their services. He further stresses the need for a viable devolution of powers for the Tamil people. He also stated that India has a major role to play in the resolution of the problem since there is a support for the LTTE in Tamil Nadu. There was an expectation among various quarters that the SLFP will present meaningful and constructive proposals but the proposals of the SLFP have disappointed the people. Although the international community including Norway, Japan and Britain, is concerned about the peaceful resolution, nothing concrete and constructive have materialized. Give us money, give us donation, give us loan, we will well come them, give us weapons, we will be happy, give us MIG, Kfir Fighter Jets and Naval Ships we will be more than happy and above all tell us to bomb, and kill the minority Tamils we will be ever grateful and thankful. That is what our holy Buddhist monks promote and support. But for God's sake (of course we don't believe in God) don't tell us to respect Tamil minority - human rights, equality, justice, truth, peace etc. These are anathema in our state affairs. If you speak of those terms, we have to say, dont interfere in our internal affairs, mind your own business and so forth. We are born to kill, born to lie, born to deny, and we are born to break promises. We are more than happy with our performances. We dont mind any price hikes, delays in traveling, or any other difficulties or any inconveniences, when it comes to bomb and kill the minority Tamils. Our priority is to attack and kill the minority Tamils, for this sake we are ever ready to undergo any hardship and suffering. Look at our holy and sacred Buddhist monks, even they dont respect Tamil minority human rights, so how can the unholy corrupted government and the politicians respect them, how can the ordinary Sinhalese Buddhist people respect them. This is our term, whether others and other countries like it or not. Just to fool the world, we make promises, we call for meetings, we call for investigations, inquiry, we appoint committees, but we dont mean them. These are just to cover our ass (CYA). Give us all what we need and what we want, you can condemn LTTE and condemn Tamils but dont tell us anything else. This is what the mahinda rajapakse clan and gang (govt) say, to the world. |
