North-east development needs immediate attention. It should not be neglected. Nor should it be delayed any more.
The
people face a lot of problems. They are unable to engage in
agriculture, fishing and in other occupations to earn their livelihood
due to the prevailing situation.
The
development work is at standstill. The people who depended on
agriculture and fishing, now depend on rations by the government, on
compensation by the government or on relief by the authorities.
Meanwhile,
the farmers in the east complain that they are unable to market their
produce at a guaranteed price or at reasonable price. There are no
facilities to store the paddy in their areas.
Therefore,
considering the reality in the north-east, the government must take
immediate steps to develop north-east and alleviate the suffering of
the people.
