President Rajapakse has assured that his government will put forward a political solution to the national conflict acceptable to all communities.- Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims. It is reported that President Rajapakse gave this undertaking directly to Richard Boucher, American Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, who participated as an observer at the recent SARRC Summit in New Delhi. Over the years, successive governments have summoned Round Table Conference, All Party Conference etc. declaring that they seek to find a political solution to the national conflict. But so far no acceptable solution has been found by them.
The reason is that there is no sincere
effort or commitment on the part of the government.
He had concluded that the All Party Conference was groping in the dark
to find a solution. Colombo may be able to mislead New York by such
promises, but not the Tamil homeland. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments (1)

I am surprised at the Stupidity of the different Leaders in the world. Leaders are leaders because they have a population to lead and also the population is content of their leader. If a leader does things that brands him as "incompetent" in front of a people he/she has to lead, it is the leader that will have to face the music when people realize that his/her leadership has not been able to lead, be an example and has been able to solve all issues in a country. If the leader does not have the skills and talents needed to accomplish his/her tasks he/she should advertise and get professionals to advice him/her. However, it must be understood that there are many people who are jealous and dishonest (The honesty level in the world is below 1% now) and may create stories, drum up popular support to bring him/her down. There is no excuse for not being able to deliver the goods as a leader. And there is no lack of experts in the different fields where expertise is needed to resolve issues. There are many Sri Lankans (In Sri Lanka and abroad) who are able to resolve all issues in Sri Lanka. We should take the example of a country where 800,000 were killed due to ethnic clashes, but is rapidly becoming one of the safest nations on earth and has the most beautiful pavements where anyone can walk day or night. See the website: http://www.toktenrwanda.org/ru...rubrique=4 for more details. It is also necessary for Sri Lankans to decide if they wish that their country be the best or the worst in the world. Leaders will come and go, but "Ordinary" people will remain. One of the other major problems I have see is the unwillingness or inability of people to identify their Natural Talents (Thought Patterns, Will/Drive and Inborn Skills) and be in a profession aligned to their talents. This has prevented us having talented, honest and innovative peacemakers, facilitators, leaders, managers, supervisors and others that can solve problems rapidly. So all the problems will drag on: We need to set up TIDY (Talents Identification and Development for everYone) centres in all communities to solve this problem: See website: http://tidycentre.com/web/english/index.htm The most talented and efficient leader I met was from Africa. He governed his country from 1983 to 1987 through participatory democracy: I advice all modern leaders to read his works and learn from them, he was killed even if he was honest and did the best for his country by corrupt people: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Sankara So leaders, if you do Good, resolve issues rapidly and satisfy the people you have a better chance of survival and being honored for decades. |
