An incident of shooting took place inside a passenger bus in Serunuwara on Sunday morning in which a Tamil youth was killed. Serunuwara police said the youth, who could not be identified, was shot dead by a fellow passenger when he was going from Serunuwara to Neelapola junction in Trincomalee district in a bus on Sunday morning.

The attacker is believed to be a member of an armed group, police sources said. Police has launched investigation into the incident.

The body of the victim was sent to the Serunuwara government hospital for post mortem examinations and identification, sources said.
