Among some of the more explosive revelations is that the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund - originally set up to facilitate the education of underprivileged students - had sustained losses of Rs 1,200 million during the last three years due to a deal entered into with a foreign collaboration called ‘G-Tech’.
