Sri Lanka: The Tamil Nadu police deny LTTE infiltration

Tamil Nadu Deputy General of Police Mukeriji has denied the reports that there is LTTE Infiltration in the seas near Rameswaram. In an interview with a Tamil Nadu daily, he categorically stated that there was no chance for any LTTE infiltration in the southern sea. He further explained that security measures are undertaken to monitor the movement of LTTE in the coastal areas of the Tamil Nadu.

They had identified the villagers in the coastal areas, who helped the LTTE members and due steps have been taken to bring the situation under control. High powered motor boats are used by the coastal guards to monitor the movements of the LTTE.

Mukerji concluded that there has been no intelligence report regarding any infiltration by the LTTTE in the seas around Tamilnadu.
