Sri Lanka: Sinhalasation of the East under the “dawn of the East” scheme

thumb_kselvy_1sn_ltte_logo_bigRight to Life in their own habitats is a fundamental right of every civilian. This very fundamental right is being denied to the Tamil people in Sri Lanka. The Government of Sri Lanka has been violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by denying civilians access to their own habitats.

Armed Forces of the Government of Sri Lanka which are occupying many predominantly Tamils areas in the districts of Trincomalee and Batticaloa has been trying again to settle Sinhalese population there.

Already Muthur east and Sampur areas comprising 28 villages of 12 Grama Sevaka Divisions which belong to Tamils and Muslims are designated as “High Security Zones (HSZ)” and access to these areas were denied to the owners of the land, the people, by the government. Civilians of these areas are unable to return to their homes and are languishing in crowded welfare centers without basic facilities.

In Kinniya area in Trincomalee, the government has restricted the land provision to the Tamils. A Murugan temple in Ilankaithuraimukam in Trincomalee was destroyed by the armed forces and a Buddhist temple had been built up in the same place. There are many newly built Buddha statues in Muslim and Tamil areas in the east.

Attempts are now being made to settle Sinhalese families of war affected soldiers in Muthalikulam (Morawewa), which is historically a Tamil village. Likewise, the Government and its armed forces are trying to settle Sinhalese population in many other Tamil villages including Thennaimaravadi near Pulmoddai, Vaharai areas, and Sundayaru in Kantalai all in the Trincomalee district.

The Sinhalasation of Tamil villages began in 1948 when Sinhalese were settled in predominantly Tamil villages under the Mahaweli development scheme by the former Prime Minister Dudley Senanayake and it is continuing to this date.

Does this mean that the North belonged to the Singhalese.?Stupid and venemous actions gives away the treacherous and vindictive nature of the culptits who have perpetrated these attrocities - The Singhalese.

Not Recently but as far as 1958 the Tamils also have seen the destruction of several old hindhu tamples and churches.
Please understand,that you cannot change history too.Is'nt it true the Mahavamsa is being re-written chapter by chapter? You cannot tell us Tamils about our history.

If co - existence with the rest of the maddening crowd is impossible then why do you want the Tamils to live as you say in a peaceful Budhist state.
Is it really peacefull.Where is it.?
Take a good look at the south and stop barking at us about history and how old it is etc.The south is about to explode in your very faces.
You go take care of that.
Your taxes on all commodities are about to be high jacked.Can the poorest of the poor in the south afford this.?Looks as though you guys on this page are not interested in the poor singhalese folks.All that you are barking is up the wrong tree.
Build your economy first.

Take this simple example.There is other infra stucture being built.This is what the government is trying to destroy.
Recently the government published that there is a surplus of onions in the north and prices have dropped.What do you think we would have done if we had a seperate state,?
Two years ago a singhalses man published a price list of all kinds of fish in the north and east and compared it with the prices in the south.
He demanded to know from the Government why the prices in the south have been jacked up and the singhalse are suffering having to pay much or not at all.
Economically we are unstable.
Stop the war and put all the millions of dollars to uplift the living standards of the people of the country.It is indeed a Budhist country.Is'nt it?.So go for it and be happy.

All your monies find themselves in the politicians pockets and other sharks.
Look at them running in limos with drivers and many security personel.!!!
A ministers elementary school kid goes to an International school with a driver,two security personal in a LIMO!!!!.All traffick is stopped.!

Please Saj,I do not talk on this page unless I have studied history and seen all incidents personally myself and experienced the attrocities.
The great Lord Budha's teachings are not followed by his disciples.If it was would they treat their own bretheren who are human in this fashion.?

For example - Take the rediculous message Sarath Fonseka gave after what minister Bogollogama uttered at the donor countries meeting?.
Both are in the government and both are on a collision course.They are like two bulls who have just butted and crashed.
Bogollogama said the war will not be taken to the north.
Sarath syas who is he to say that, only the soldiers can decide and the war will be taken to the north.
Ofcourse,Bogollogama has to get the money by lying and Sarath blurted out another lie because he is hungry for power.So you are in the circus and they are having fun.
Wake up and clean up the slate in your area.
