Vavuniya District Judge Elancheliyan has appealed that innocent civilians who don’t participate in the war must be protected even if war cannot be stopped. The rule of law must be maintained without any prejudice on the basis of race or religion.
He was addressing the Vavuniya District Literary Festival as its Chief Guest at Vavuniya Town Council hall. Divisional Secretary Miss Thuraisamy presided.
He continued that during the last two years many youths, who have no involvement with the ongoing war, have been killed. The killing of the innocent civilians cannot be permitted and should not be permitted at any cost.
