The Sri Lankan ambassador to France had a lucky escape on Sunday morning thanks to the national flag, reports from there say. According to French sources, the ambassador was involved in an indecent act with an Albanian cleaner who worked at the embassy premises at around 2am, when some staffs from Sri Lanka had arrived unannounced.
The staffs were there to prepare for the arrival of Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama in Paris later on the day.
According to close sources, the ambassador was taken by surprise and had to jump out of the first-floor in which he had been spending the night with the Albanian lady and dash outside through the window and on to the balcony where the sword wielding lion flag came to his rescue.
Eyewitnesses reported that the lion flag clad ambassador had to climb down the flag pole, causing some minor damages to the pole itself.
A heavily embarrassed Sri Lankan mission in France is currently in the process of cooking up stories to cover up the saucy drama that was witnessed by several dozen French party goers in the middle of Paris, reports from there say.
