A five member family from Matuvil north sought protective custody from Jaffna Human Rights Commission on Sep 2nd following threats to their lives. Although there had been an large number of people, who sought protective custody individually in the past, this is the first time that a whole family has sought protective custody.

Kathiravel Kumarasamy (36), his wife Sri Latha (30), his children Tulsaika(13).Gunaseelan (10) and Dilashana (3) are the members of the family who have sought protective custody. They are all from Matuvil North. They to be produced before the Jaffna District Court.
