Students of Jaffna will participate in the National Sports meet in Colombo, Education officials in Jaffna said on Monday after meeting with Sri Lanka Army (SLA) authorities in Palaali Head Quarters.

A total of 500 students have been selected for the meet and of them, 119 are scheduled to travel to Trincomalee on Tuesday and the rest will be sent later in two groups.

Officials said the first group of students from Jaffna will travel by ship to Trincomalee and from there to Colombo by land to participate in the national competition in Colombo.
