The acting vice chancellor of the University E. Kumaravadivel and the Dean of the Jaffna Medical faculty Dr. K. Sivapalan released a joint statement on Tuesday in this regard. The Jaffna medical graduates are obliged to serve their brethren in the peninsula by undertaking their internships at the Jaffna teaching hospital. This release comes in the wake of heated discussions on the lack of doctors in Jaffna even though the district has a medical faculty with many doctors passing out every year.
