Three civilians traveling in a tractor were killed on Friday morning in a pressure mine explosion incident took place in Earaavoor police division along Vanthaarumoolai-Uppoadai road. The victims were identified as Krishnapillai Velupillai, 41, of Kaneasa Viththiyaalaya Veethi, Kathirkamar Thavarasa, 40, of Eeralakulam, and Thankarasa Kuhan, 18.

The tractor was completely damaged in the incident.

Vanthaarumoolai is located 15 km north of Batticaloa town.

Earavoor police recovered the bodies and sent those to Batticaloa Teaching hospital for post mortem examination.
