Sri Lanka: Before talks, Tigers have to lay down arms: Mahinda Rajapakse

President Mahinda Rajapakse on Friday at a big rally in Galle said when the East was liberated from Tamil Tigers and the Lion flag was hoisted on Toppigala, not only Prabakaran was disturbed but certain leaders in the south too were alarmed.
Addressing the rally the President said he was prepared to talk with the Liberation Tigers at any time. But, he further said, the tigers have to lay down their arms before they will sit for talk.
This is the third in a series of rallies held under the theme “President meets the people.”
He said after the Eastern province, the armed forces have liberated Silawathura and added that the next step would be to liberate the North.
