thumb_310The humanitarian organizations are urged to support the students in need. The displaced students from Vavuniya North and Vavuniya are now living in temporary camps in Panangamam, Nattankandal, Karummpulliyan, Poovarasankulam, Ponnagar and Oddaruththakulam villages. Many of these settlements lack basic facilities even though many months have passed since their establishment.

Further many students from elementary school goers to higher school students in the camps have lost their school books and other educational support materials during their displacement. Though some students manage to go to school many are unable to attend because of serious financial difficulties in getting educational support materials. Many students in the elementary level have stopped going to schools due to the financial problems. The IDP representatives are requesting the humanitarian organizations in Vanni to support the education of their children by providing educational materials.
