Sri Lanka: 7 Tamil youths arrested in Chengkaladi

Earaavoor police arrested seven Tamil youths in the area in a police search following the grenade attack on the police sentry post along Main Street, Chengkaladi, by an unidentified youth on motorcycle Friday morning, the police said. No one was injured in the attack, the police added.
The arrested youths are being detained in Earaavoor police station for interrogation.
The youth the motorcycle had approached the police sentry post and hurled a hand grenade before escaping, the police said.
Earaavoor police are investigating into the attack.
Chengkaladi is located 13 km northwest of Batticaloa town.
