President Mahinda Rajapaksa is likely to visit Trincomalee early this week to welcome Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) returning from what Navy Chief Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, which is called to be the SLN’s biggest victory in the entire Eelam conflict.
Along side the government media, the government has also invited The private media to cover the event.
A fool-proof security arrangement will be made prior to visit of the President to Trincomalee.
Despite losing all its bases in the East, the LTTE is believed to be active in the region, especially in the Batticaloa and Trincomalee districts where sporadic confrontations are continuing.
