Sri Lanka: 2 Tamils farmers shot dead in Trincomalee

Two Tamil farmers were shot dead by unidentified men on Tuesday night at Pankulam, a village in Trincomalee district dominated by the Tamils. The Armed men called the victims, identified as Kathiravelu, 52, and Suntharam, 50, residents of Pankulam, out of their houses and fired them at point blank range.
The reasons behind the killings could not be known.
Pankulam village, located 24 km northwest of Trincomalee town along Trincomalee-Auradapura road, in Moraweva Divisional Secretariat, is directly controlled by Sri Lanka Army and Police.
