Archbishop of Colombo most Reverend Oswald Gomis yesterday called for an end to the turmoil faced by the country and asked all people to strive for peace. Bishop Gomis made this point at a peace march organized by the Colombo Central, North and South Deaneries in Colombo yesterday. “In a time like this when the Sri Lankan community is facing a difficult time it is important for us to get together and strive to bring lasting peace to our nation,” his grace admonished.
The bishop further affirmed that faith and togetherness had brought peace to some countries which has been facing crises from time to time in the past and therefore peace was a possibility.
The March which began from All Saints church ended with a short service at St Joseph’s college Colombo. A large number of school children and devotees participated in the event.
