Plans are afoot to make LTTE renegade leader Karuna the head of an Interim Provincial Council in the Eastern Province, The Nation learns. Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan, better known by his nom de guerre Karuna Amman, is tipped to be appointed as the head of the Interim Eastern Provincial Council till elections is held in the Province. Meanwhile, Karuna is reported to have travelled to the United Kingdom last week.
