Sri Lanka government is learnt to have instructed the public service administrators to cut almost all the extra expenses of the public servants. The leaders of Sri Lankan trade unions have alleged that because of government’s instruction, the overtime, salary arrears, distress loans and many other benefits of the public servants have been cut temporarily.
The government has instructed the state banks to stop issuing the seven-year salary advance property loans to the public servants as well.
