The youth was shot and injured seriously as he was walking along the road. He was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim is still not established. Meanwhile, a young Tamil telecommunication engineer was arrested by the Terrorist Intelligence Division on Wednesday night around 10.30 p.m. from his residence in Wellawatte.

According to a complaint lodged by his relatives with the Wellawatte Police on Thursday, a group of ten TID operatives went to his residence and took him for further investigation. Identity of the victim has not been released.
