Sri Lanka: 32 Tamil fisher men were arrested by the S.L navy, in the peninsula sea

Sri Lanka Navy soldiers arrested thirty two Paasaiyoor and Kurunakar fishermen who hurriedly returned to the shores Jaffna Lagoon after the sea battle held between the Sea Tigers and the Sri Lanka Navy Saturday morning 10:45 a.m. The fishermen had gone out fishing early morning at 7:00 a.m. after satisfying the pass formalities with the SLN.
The arrested fishermen are being kept at the SLN camp in Kurunakar.
Appeals by the Kurunakar Fishermen's Union officials and Catholic Priests failed to persuade the SLN command to release the fishermen.
The arrested has not been released at morning Sunday. According to inform sources from Jaffna say, that the SLN is planning to handover the arrested to Jaffna Police who will produce the fishermen in Jaffna Courts Sunday.
