Sri Lanka: British High Commissioner and USA and German Ambassadors directly interfere in internal affairs!

Intelligence sections have reported to the government that the British High Commissioner and Ambassadors of the USA and Germany in Sri Lanka directly interfere in internal affairs of the country. Intelligence sections have pointed out to the Defense Secretary that these diplomats constantly criticize affairs of the country and have created unfavourable situation to Security Forces.

When British Foreign Ministry has instructed retired as well as diplomats in service not to get involved in internal affairs of countries they have served or are serving, the High Commissioner in Colombo has violated these instructions point out security sections.

“The situation is critical. These diplomats interfere in defense matters as well as political affairs. If the situation prevails it would affect security operations pointed out a spokesman for intelligence sections pointing out that recently the German Ambassador had said that all security operations should be stopped.

In a similar situation former President Ranasinghe Premadasa banished the then High Commissioner for the UK in Sri Lanka.
