JVP on Tuesday filed a fundamental rights petition against the 2008 Appropriation Bill presented by the government on October 10. JVP parliamentarian Sunil Handunneththi in his petition stated that the Appropriation draft Bill for 2008 is not in compliance with the constitution and sought a court order to subject it into two third parliamentary majority and the approval at a referendum. He cited the Attorney General as the respondent of the petition. This is the JVP’s second such petition filed in the Supreme Court. Chartered Accountant Nihal Srinath Amarasekara also filed a petition against the Appropriation Bill last week alleging that allocations of the Consolidated Fund were being allowed to be used for other purposes. | Is this a cosmetic case before selling the people on the grounds waging correct war on the terrorist? You cannot sell it anymore, even to the grass-root members of the JVP. the more you cling on with this goverment the more you will be dragged down to the hellhole you really belong to as a terrorist outfit that was, that is and that will be for ever. The loud mouth is paving the way for it. Bye bye from democracy! |
