Sri Lanka: Paduvankarai resettled families suffer due to SL army restrictions

The resettled population in the Paduvankarai area of Batticaloa district are facing severe hardships due to Sri Lankan military restrictions and harassment. The Sri Lankan Special Task Force in the area is forcing the civilians to register them weekly in their camp. The Paduvankarai resettled families are undergoing severe difficulties at the hands of Sri Lankan military forces in their resettled villages.
The Sri Lankan forces especially the STF in the region are forcing the civilians to register themselves at the STF camps every week without fail. The Sir Lankan forces are conducting village level meetings in which they intimidate the civilians to follow the rules.
The troopers also confiscate the identity cards of youths and order them to collect them in their camps. Civilians express their horror of the possibility of youths being abducted when they go to collect their IDs. The Sri Lankan forces also demand the civilians to produce the new police identity cards.
