The witness in the Allaipiddy massacre case who is now in Kilinochchi has appealed to the Kayts additional magistrate to transfer the case to kilinochchi court, citing personal security fears to travel to Jaffna. The key witness in the killing probe of 13 civilians at Puliyankoodal in Allaipiddi in the Jaffna islets have appealed to the Kayts additional magistrate to transfer the case to Kilinochchi court, citing security fears to travel to Jaffna to attend the hearings.
In a faxed appeal to the Kayts magistrate the woman witness said that there are severe threats prevailing in Jaffna and in such a situation visiting the peninsula will be fatal for her and appealed to the Kyts additional magistrate to transfer the case hearings to Kilinochchi court.
She also appealed to conduct the identification parade in the Kilinochchi court house so that she can identify key suspects. The Kyts magistrate, after examining the appeal has said that his court has no authority to transfer cases from one court to another and directed the registrar to inform the woman to approach the appeal court to get a reply.
