Weeklong ceremonies have been held across the western states where the Tamil Diaspora resides in memory of the 21 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) cadres who died during last Monday's air-land combined assault on a Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) base in Anuradhapura.
In Switzerland, Norway and Germany, ceremonies were held at the homes of relatives of the cadres who died in combat. The events were attended to by a large number of people from across those countries. In the United Kingdom a remembrance service was held at the Eelapatheeswarar Aalayam in Alperton, West London. The event was attended to by in excess of 25 people, despite being arranged at short notice, according to reports from the country. Reports noted that the Eelapatheeswarar Aalayam which was under private ownership has only recently been handed back to the public. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments (3)
