Sri Lanka: Periyar Dravida Kazhagam holds commemoration meetings for Thamilselvan

The Periyar Dravida Kazhagam held several commemoration meetings in Tamil Nadu to show respect to the martyr Brigadier on Friday. A commemoration meeting was held at the Boss stadium in Salem where hundreds of Tamils took part to respect late Thamilselvan.
The mourners chanted slogans with black flags that the Sri Lakan government should be condemned for targeting peace activists and they urged Indian government to condemn Sri Lanka for its wrong-doings.
They also criticized Sri Lankan government for stripping the bodies the Black Tigers killed in the attack on Anuradhapura air base on October 22 and putting their naked bodies on display in an open car to show people.
Another meeting was held at the office of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam located at Gandhipuram where a large number of crowd with black and white uniforms and black flags to commemorate Brigadier Thamilselvan.
Kovai Ramakiddinan, the general secretary of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam, presided over the meeting.
The speakers condemned the Sri Lankan government for targeting innocents and political activists of the LTTE which is jeopardizing the possibility of resuming peace talks in the island country.
