The Tamils around the world including in the western countries, southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and in Eelam ceremonially paid rich tributes to five martyrs including Brigadier Thamilselvan. LTTE Political Head Thamilselvan and five others were killed in the air raid of the Sri Lankan air force on Friday morning in Kilinochchi.

Tamils all over the world as never before in the history of Diaspora Tamils hold meetings to pay respect to Brigadier Thamilselvan and five others.

In south Indian state Tamil Nadu people are holding meetings throughout the state.

A good number of Tamil leaders in India have issued statements condemning Sri Lankan government for targeting leader like Thamilselvan.

The worth mentioning leaders who have expressed their deep shock at the death of Thamilselvan and five others are: Mr. Karunanidhi of DMK, Mr. Veeramani of Dravida Kazhagam, Mr. Nedumaran of Tamil National Movement, Mr. Vaiko of MDMK, Dr. Ramadoss of PMK, Mr. Thirumavalavan of DPI, Mr. Kovai Mani of Periyar Dravida Peravai, Mr. Pandiyan of Indian Marxist Party – Tamil Nadu and Bharathirajah of south Indian cinema director.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi has praised Brig. Thamilselvan through poem saying Tamils around the world will not forget Brig. Thamilselvan. He said Thamilselvan will be remembered and respected in every home of Tamils across the world as he was a general who had always a smiling face and a mind that sets ablaze opposition.

He raised: “Selva, where have you gone?”

Mr. Bhrathirajah recalled that Brig. Thamilselvan introduced him to the great Tamil hero, the LTTE leader V. Pirapaharan, during his visit to northern Sri Lanka last year.

He said he was very much pleased at the hospitality of Brig. Thamilselvan during his stay in Sri Lanka.

It is understandable for the SL Tamil diasporas that their blood brothers sre also participating in their loss of the peace negotiator. But this actress Jeyalalitha who danced and entertained the Tamil public half nakedly is now talking big and trying to ridicule the Indian Tamils. The Indian Tamils must show her what they can do by rejecting her participation in Tamil Nad politics.

well said! She is not even tamil, some lady who came out from kannada or wherever she came from, and just because she was CM for tamilnadu before doesn't mean she can comment on tamils. You are right, she half nakedly danced on screens to earn money, and now talking about tamil people who are mourning the death of a man? Does she has the status to talk? after all she came into cinema to earn money by showing skin, now she is talking about tamils. It is embarrassing to say she was CM of tamilnadu before, what qualities does she have? she cannot even respect the feelings of the tamil people, and she is fit for that position? Even if its enemy, expressing the sympathy and mourning is the proper way of responding, but she is talking like cold hearted/cold blooded idiot. Thats right, she never had family, and doesn't know the meaning of husband or children. She doesn't have relations to feel that affection, so this is how she will talk. By expressing his condolences Mr. Karunanidhi has proved he is truely a good human being. It is disgusting to see that some people are happy and partying with joy by looking at someone's death.

Who are we to blame. The so called "literate" tamils who are yet so uneducated. They will still vote for her. A modern disgrace to the chola ancestors.

Attention: Miss Jayalalitha and Company.

I would like to bring up a few points with you. I am sure that you are not at all entitled to talk about Eelam Tamils. First of all you are not even Tamil yourself and do not have the background knowledge on the ongoing war in Sri Lanka. Who are you to say whether the Tamilsâ?? fighting in Sri Lanka are wrong and who are you to say that Tamils in Tamil Nadu should not support Eelam Tamils. Each Tamil in Tamil Nadu has the right to support whatever they feel is right.

After all you are not a suitable role model for Tamils. Once upon a time you appeared half naked on screen to entertain Tamils and now you are talking about ethics. Moreover, you donâ??t even have a proper identity for your birth and here you are labelling a freedom movement as terrorists. If you feel like they are terrorists and are fighting for no reason other than to breed violence, why donâ??t you go and live in the North East for a few weeks?

Even your past party leader knew what the Eelam Tamils are fighting for and provided assistance. The least you can do is keep your mouth closed and play a neutral role. We are not asking you for any help. Just donâ??t make statements on a situation you know absolutely nothing about to give your political party any gains.

Based on these few points, I have a few suggestions for you. You claim to be a leader for the Tamils, and I am a Tamil myself. So I have the right to mention any suggestions I have to a â??Tamil leaderâ?ť. First of all, read a book, read the news or go to Sri Lanka and get a first hand view on what exactly is happening there. Then make comments and actions. Second, donâ??t abuse the rights of expression of the Tamil Nadu Tamils just because you have personal issues. Third, since you would just like to sit and watch while your Tamils are being murdered, raped and tortured, I think you should just sit and keep watching without making any baseless comments and actions to discredit a movement.

Thank you,

Sathana Sivakumar
