....Or give him diplomatic immunity as a Sri Lankan Government Special Representative???

The penalty for possession of forged passports is a minimum of 6 months imprisonment. The penalty for possession of an illegal firearm is a minimum 5 years. Extortion, abductions and recruitment of child soldiers are crimes under the UN Conventions.

The British authorities have now nabbed paramilitary leader Karuna, also known as leader of Tamil People?s Liberation Tigers (TMVP). The MI5 has grilled him.

UN Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, Louise Arbour, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights and Allan Rock, the Special Advisor to the United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict on Sri Lanka too have highlighted the crimes committed by this Sri Lankan paramilitary leader.
These three UN envoys and others including the Sri Lankan Government denied knowledge of the whereabouts of this man.

Now that the British authorities are holding him, treating him for his crimes on British soil, it is time for Britain to stand up to its commitments in respect of the UN Conventions too.

To list out this person?s crimes after releasing him to the Sri Lankan authorities would be nothing but a closing of the stable doors after the horse has bolted.
