Poddu Ammaan, the intelligence wing chief of the Liberation Tigers, said Tamils are continuously being victims of injustice done to them by international community. He said
Poddu Ammaan was delivering obituary address at the funeral of Brigadier S.P. Thamilchelvan held in Kilinochchi on Monday. He said, "We are trying our best to convince the international community that what sufferings and hardships we are going through. But they are yet to be convinced. So, we are struggling alone for establishing our rights. The international community often scales us with Sri Lankan government which is unfair and we are to pay for that and Thamilchelvan has paid for the International Injustice”, he added. Recalling his close association with Thamilchelvan in his early days in the LTTE, Poddu Ammaan referred to some events of bravery and able leadership shown by Thamilchelvan during IPKF times and the first Elephant Pass (EPS) operation. He also praised LTTE leader V. Pirapaharan for elevating Thamilchelvan’s position in the LTTE.

this injustice has created an uneven playing for Tamils where they are compared with Sri Lankan government which has plenty of military and economic resources

As he rightly said, Brigadier S.P. Thamilchelvan has paid a heavy price for the international injustice. If they are so ineffective in establishing the conditions for peace, the international community should be allowed to take a back seat and let the Tamil Nation exercise its military options - without interference. |

Mr Fernando, I understand your wish, But you should realize your government is not that brave or smart to get anymore of those higher ranking leaders of LTTE. Naturally, Sinhalese are little slower and dumber than Tamils (Sri Lankan history says that). Your government got Tamilselvan at a public building, which is known by every single person in Sri Lanka. Where all your members went to have peace talk. And you call that attack something brave and to be proud of?? |

First the SL Government was whining about the actions and inactions of the Inernationa Community and now the LTTE has started as if the International Community has started all these with the promises to help! Or did they? The whining of the Government effectively egged on by the JVP and JHU terrorist of sorts is only meant for consumption of the Budhdhist chauvinists while making hay with the temporary sunshine and it appears that LTTE is whining to smudge recent bad image on the canvass. The International Community for its part should be blamed for unnecessarily complicating things here with their periodical statements containing catch phrases which can be quoted by both parties to the conflict as favourable to them only to get the hopes up one way or the other of the people who are unnecessarily caught in between the devil and the deep blue sea. The govt. talks of sovereignity and great culture when strongly worded statements are made by the IC, and go to them with the begging bowl. Failing to achieve, they unleash the unaccountable laudrymen, the JVP and JHU canines to revamp the moral. The LTTE would shoot first and ask question irrespective of consequences like in the case of Rajiv Gandhi and several others. But of course the LTTE has been a convenient bank for murders committed by others (including the govt.) are credited in. We know that there are a number of cut-throats who are going about with saintly appearance with that kind of background. Moshe Dayan once said "If we lose this war, I'll start another in my wife's name!" Such is the mentality created by war and it would seem the parties to the SL warand the so called peace makes are driven by the same principle. |
