The FMM has also distributed a hand-bill titled, 'Let us safeguard Tamil-Muslim ties,' in the district, sources in Batticaloa said.
The hand-bill said the Tamils and Muslims have been living for long maintaining friendly relationship but some misunderstandings have developed between them in the recent past, although the present situation is very conducive to rebuild the relations like in the past.
Tamils in the Muslim areas should cooperate to get the Muslim trader abducted by Tamil paramilitary groups freed, the hand-bill further said.
