Sri Lanka: 2 family men abducted and a civilian reported missing in Jaffna peninsula

Two men were abducted and one reported mission in Jaffna peninsula. A family man was abducted by armed men in Kolumpuththurai on October 28 around 7.30 p.m. according to complaint made by his relatives on Monday to the Jaffna Human Rights Commission. Meanwhile, a family man was abducted from his house in Ealalai east on Sunday morning and a family man has been reported missing in Kokuvil West.

Unidentified armed men abducted a family man from his house in Kolumpuththurai on 28 October around 7:30 p.m. according to complaint made by the man’s relatives to the Jaffna Human Rights Commission Office. The relatives told the human rights office on Monday that he was taken away in a buffel armoured vehicle. The family man abducted in the SLA vehicle is Thanabalasingam Janathkumar age 30, a father of one child.

A Buffel armoured carrier belongs to SL army was seen to be parked outside Janathkumar’s house who was taken away in it by the armed abductors Meanwhile, a father of three children was abducted from his house on Sunday at Ealalai east.Mahalingam Mathusoothanan age 32 was abducted as he was relaxing in front of his house at Ealalai east on Sunday evening. In the meantime a family man is reported missing from Kokkuvil West, according to complaints made by relatives to HRC Jaffna. The man reported missing since Saturday is Rasthurai Thileep age 30, a resident of Kaliyamman Koayiladi in Kokkuvil west in Jaffna.

According to relatives Thileep left his house on Saturday to Jaffna Perumaal Koayiladi on a personal errand had not returned home since. Earlier on Sunday a new paper distributor attached to the Yarl Thinakkural daily has been reported missing by his wife. He has been reported missing after taking papers for distribution from Yarl Thinakkural office in K.K.S Road at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.The staffer is feared abducted while attending to his daily duty in Ealalai area where a Sri Lanka Army camp is located.
