A meeting has been scheduled between the Head of
Mission of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) Major General Lars
Johan Solvberg and the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) new
Political Head P. Nadesan, in Ki'ilinochchi on Thursday, according to
informed sources in Vanni.
The meeting comes in the wake of targeted
air attack that claimed the life of Liberation Tigers Political Head
S.P. Thamilchelvan who was the Chief Negotiator of the Norwegian
facilitated peace process.
All attention is focused on Vanni as LTTE's leader Velupillai
Pirapharan would be making his annual policy speech on the Heroes Day
on 27 November.
The LTTE leader, last year, in his policy speech said that the "dual war and peace approach," was "fundamentally flawed."
"It
is not possible to find a resolution by marginalizing and destroying
the freedom movement with which talks must be held to find the
resolution. This is political absurdity on the part of the Sinhala
leaders," the LTTE leader had said in his policy speech last year.
