The Tamils belonging to North and East provinces have been restricted from visiting Colombo by introducing new regulations. Sources in Colombo said the Sri Lankan Police has introduced a new regulations asking Tamils from North and Eastern provinces intending to visit Colombo urgently to collect letters from Grama Sevakar (village level officers) of their respective areas, mentioning the reason for their Colombo visit, and to register their presence. Meanwhile, some GS officials are reported to have been instructed by some Divisional Secretaries of their respective divisions not to issue letters to persons willing to travel to Colombo, which is causing severe problem and sufferings to Tamils. Because of this restrictions, many Tamils who need to go to Colombo either for treatment purpose, or to face interview for job or to go abroad are being unable to the capital, sources said. | This is a good idea from the goverment. If we can save Colombo and most of the southern parts from LTTE infiltration by even stopping innocent Tamils from coming to Colombo, then this is a great opportunity for the young Tamils to join the LTTE and fight against supresive government. Agin, this is for the IC and the moderate Tamils who think that Tamils have no problem, well think again you modyas. We are treated like a second class citizens and that's why we took up arms and we will anihilate the Sinagala goons. |
