Two home guards were killed in a Claymore attack on Friday morning at Kambiliweva in Padaviya in Manalaru region, police sources said. Police said unidentified persons triggered a Claymore device that left two home guards killed who were returning after road patrol around 7:00 a.m.

Details of the home guards could not be known but their bodies have been kept at Padaviya hospital.

After the incident, Sri Lanka Army (SLA) and police launched a search operation in the area.
