Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have denied allegations published on a Sinhala website that the TULF Chief and former Kilinochchi district parliamentarian Veerasingham Anadasangaree is "on the payroll of the Tamil Tigers".
The website said that: "Tigers have a habit of killing their opponents. But miraculously Anandasangaree has survived all these years with minimal security and no real attempt on his life."
Published on the site's front-page, the extended article by a Sinhala chauvinist went on to speculate: "Devanadna has had seven attempts on his life, but Anandasangaree has had none. May be there are underplaying reasons for this."
Liberation Tigers vehemently denied the charges that Anandasangaree was on their payroll and is "collecting GPS/Map Data of targets in southern Sri Lanka for them", another allegation that was put forward by the website.
Sources in Kilinochchi say that Anandasangaree is "totally opposed to the LTTE and has written a number of articles against them".
