The people in Jaffna peninsula are facing problems as passenger buses, both public and private, are stopping their services at 4:30 p.m. everyday although the curfew in the peninsula now starts at 9.p.m. Sources said the passengers who reach Jaffna peninsula from Valigamam, Vadamaradchy, Thenmaradhcy and Theevagam are facing trouble in catching buses in the evening.

Many passengers say that they need the whole day to complete their jobs and it is not possible on the part of the passengers going from Jaffna town to Kankesanthurai to return to Jaffna town till late evening.

The passengers who need to return home are bound to hire three-wheelers or cars to reach their destinations but many people who cannot afford to hire these vehicles remain in the streets with no vehicles to take them.

The passengers said they are afraid to go to Jaffna from other areas as transportation system comes to standstill at 4:30 p.m.
