The government yesterday decided to ban the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation, an LTTE front under investigation in many parts of the world. An authoritative official last night said that Sri Lanka would appeal to the International Community(IC) to proscribe the organization.
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama last week urged UK, Canada, Denmark, France and Australia to ban the organization. This appeal was made in the backdrop of US ban on the LTTE front.
The official said that the Sri Lankan government expected foreign governments, INGOs and NGOs to review their relations with all other LTTE fronts on a priority basis.
