A warning was issued to Sri Lankan government on Friday that all Muslim ministers will vote against the 3rd reading of the Mahinda Rajapakse government’s 3rd budget on December 14 if the sound pollution act that prevents the use of public address systems at night was not scraped.
Addressing a protest rally held at Jumma Mosque at Maradana, Colombo against the laws Minister of Export Development Cegu Isadeen made this warning to the government.
He said this law that prevents the use of public address systems from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. will affect the religious activities of Muslims.
The protestors signed a petition against the ban on loudspeakers and Minister Isadeen too put his signature on it.
