LONDON, BASEL & COPENHAGEN (SNM) -- Hindu temples across Europe have been holding traditional religious ceremonies for the nearly 20, 000 Tamil men and women killed fighting the Sri Lankan military. On Sunday ceremonies were held at Sri Rajarajeshwari Amman Temple in Switzerland; Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple in Denmark and Eelapatheeswarar Aalayam in England.
Hundreds of Hindu devotees attended the ceremonies and prayed for those killed in fighting against the Sri Lankan military for the recognition of the existence of a Tamil Homeland in the island of Sri Lanka. Eelapatheeswarar Aalayam in England held the ceremony for the first time in three years. The temple was recently handed back to the local Hindu community after three years of private management. Sri Rajarajeshwari Amman Temple and Sithi Vinayagar Temple have been holding special remembrance poojas ever since their inception. Several more Hindu temples across Europe are holding special poojas throughout the three day long remembrance events. Set as favorite Bookmark Comments (2)

| Re NAMAL's above comment, tthough the word 'ceremony' and the word 'celebration' have the first two letters ('ce' ) in common the rest of the words are different and a;lso their meanings are quite different. This is another example of a Sinhala extremist short-sightedness. |
